Demi Moore, 49. In November of last year, Moore split from her husband, Ashton Kutcher, 33, after rumors swirled for months that he was having multiple extra-marital affairs. Following the split, many photos swirled the Internet that showed Moore to be looking incredibly thin and frail.
Yesterday, it was reported that Moore was rushed to the hospital after a 911 call was placed from her house, according to E! News (Jan, 24, 2012). E! News also reported that Demi was "acting like she was suffering from a seizure," according to their source.
Moore chose to stay in the hospital for treatment. Her rep made the following statement, "Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health. She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends."
The actress's rep also confirmed that she will not be playing feminist Gloria Steinem in the upcoming movie, Lovelace.
If anything in particular caused all this, Moore isn’t saying. Not yet, anyway — though TMZ claims Moore’s 911 emergency was the result of “substance abuse” — even though it’s unclear what “substance” may or may not have given her the jim-jams. And as if exhaustion and rampant speculation weren’t enough trouble, RadarOnline is reporting yet another ailment, claiming that Moore “is getting treated for anorexia, as well as other issues that caused her seizure.” Again, Moore has yet to confirm or deny these reports, but the actress has become increasingly skeletal since her public split from Ashton Kutcher.
Moore and Kutcher announced their separation in November, after six years of marriage — and one much-gossiped-about Hard Rock Hotel tryst between Kutcher and a hot-tub enthusiast named Sara Leal.
Since the split, Moore has had a few rumoured rebounds, and was spotted by People magazine a little more than a week ago, partying with her 23-year-old daughter, Rumer Willis, and flirting with 90210 star Ryan Rottman.
Work-wise, she was recently cast in an upcoming Linda Lovelace biopic in the role of feminist icon Gloria Steinem. Because of her current treatment, Moore has backed out of the job, her rep told People. Moore was to have a cameo as Steinem.
